The famous sedan is coming updated for the next year, as 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid. This version of the premium sedan is considered as one of the best models in class. It came along with the conventional gasoline model in 2013. After four years of production, we are about to see the first update. This compact sedan is already considered as one of the most attractive in class. With these new changes, it should be even better.
Most of the changes for this update are about visual appearance. Improved styling will be the main thing about 2018 Q50 Hybrid. In other aspects, we don’t expect bigger changes. Its powertrain will remain the same, featuring same numbers too. When it comes to the interior design, we will see the same cabin, but there are some new standard features to come. It will arrive by the end of the year.
2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid refresh
As we already mentioned, this refresh is mostly about visual improvements. The company makes changes to the already attractive sedan, so the new one should look amazing. Just like it is the case with pretty much all updates, the front end will suffer most. We will see various modifications. The most notable are new grille, but there are also some smaller revisions on headlights and bumper. The rear end of the car will also come with changes. Taillights will be quite slimmer, while the rear bumper will also come with small revisions. From a side, you will notice new wheels design, while some new color options, besides current three, are also possible. The interior design will come with some smaller modifications. Base design will remain the same. The dashboard will also remain pretty much the same. However, we are about to see some new technology features available.
2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid features
The 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will come with a full load of features. Some of the notable standard equipment will be 19-inch wheels, 16-speaker premium audio system, sporty suspension, leather upholstery, heated seats and steering wheel, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry/start etc. In terms of safety, this car received five stars in the NHTSA’s rollover test (of a possible five). There is also a whole bunch of active safety and driver-assist features, such as high beam assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive headlights, lane departure warning, and lane departure prevention with active lane control.
2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid powertrain
The 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will continue with the same powertrain. It is a classic hybrid system that combines power from the 3.5-liter gasoline V6 engine and one electric motor. The total output of this system is around 360 horsepower. The power comes to wheels through a 7-speed automatic transmission, which is the only choice. It sends power either to rear or all wheels. An RWD model needs less than 4.9 seconds for a 0-60 sprint, while the AWD model is slightly slower and needs 5.2 seconds. A rear-wheel-drive model also features quite better economy, which goes around 27 mpg in city and 32 mpg on a highway. On the other side, AWD model returns around 26 mpg in city and 30 mpg on a highway.
2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid release date and price
The 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid already had its presentation, a few months ago. However, it will hit the market this fall, probably in the last quarter of the year. When it comes to price, we don’t expect bigger changes compared to the current 2017 year model, which goes around 48.000 dollars. Competition in this segment is tough. Since this is a premium segment, it is pretty legal to put hybrids together with gasoline and diesel models. So, main competitors will be models from the German trio. Those are Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes Benz C-Class. There are also familiar rivals from Lexus and Acura, and also an absolute hit for this year, Alfa Romeo Giulia.
