Most of us expected to be amazed by the new semi-truck, but the famous electric-car manufacturer prepared one huge surprise – the 2020 Tesla Roadster. No one didn’t expect to see a premiere of the new version of this sporty coupe and company definitely managed to amaze us.
The original model came almost a decade ago. Various reports about the second generation are present for several years. The first teaser appeared in 2014 and we are finally seeing a premiere, three years later. The new model comes with plenty of amazing design solutions and technologies.
However, the most impressive thing about the new model is a claim that the new model will be able to reach 60 mph in less than two seconds, while the max range will be more than 620 miles. Pre-orders of the 2020 Roadster have already started and first delivers are expected in about two years.

The second generation of the ultra-fast sports roadster is on its way. We had a surprising premiere recently and there are many amazing things about the 2020 Tesla Roadster. First of all, it comes with a completely new design. In terms of styling, this model is work of Franz von Holzhausen, a former Mazda designer that is responsible also for Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X and Tesla Model 3. However, the new model doesn’t have much in common with these three cars.
First of all, there is a completely new design language and expect its application on other future models of Tesla as well. This includes a completely new, sharper design of headlights, as well as new grille design. Of course, there is a whole bunch of new details which make this care pretty attractive. The overall impression is that the new model looks much better than the original.

At the moment, we don’t know much about the cabin of new 2020 Tesla Roadster. The biggest novelty is probably in terms of new seats. Unlike the original model which is a classic 2-seat roadster, this one comes with 2+2 seat configuration and it is could be also considered as a coupe. However, these rear seats are exceptionally small, just like in pretty much every sports car of this type. It features a Targa roof, with glass-removable surfaces.

The whole powertrain is completely new. There are three electric motors, which are capable to produce 7376 pound-feet of torque. On the other side, there is a large 200-kWh battery pack. This huge capacity will provide a max range of more than 620 miles. Now, let’s talk about those amazing performances. As we already said, the company claims 1.9 seconds for the 0-60 sprint. 4.3 seconds to reach 100 mph and less than 9 seconds for quarter mile sound even more impressive.
When it comes to top speed, it goes around 250 miles per hour. If we consider all these amazing numbers, we can definitely find some truth in words of the company’s spokesman, which said that this will be a real knockout to all gasoline competitors.
2020 Tesla Roadster production
The 2020 Tesla Roadster will come in about two years. Pre-orders have already started and first 1000 buyers will get a limited version of the new model, called Roadster Founders Series. This version will go around 250.000 dollars, while further standard models should cost around 200.000, with 50.000-dollars reservation required.
