After four years of production, Honda’s premium brand is going to launch a refreshed version of this full-size sedan, as 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid. This car came in 2013 and it is one of the top sedans that you can find on the market. Although it features excellent quality and plenty of other benefits, the company wants to increase sales. So, they did a facelift, which had its premiere recently. The new model comes with several changes, but most notable is definitely a new look. Despite all these exterior and interior changes, 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid will come with the same powertrain. This system proved itself and there is really no need for some modifications. The powertrain is similar to one that can be found in NSX supercar. There is a 3.5-liter V6 that comes along with three electric motors. However, there are two electric motors on the rear axle, instead of the front. Transmission is new 10-speed automatic, which provides not only smoother ride but also better acceleration. The total output of this whole system is 377 horsepower, which is more than enough for excellent performances. It needs just 5.5 seconds for a 0-60 sprint. An average fuel consumption goes around 30 miles per gallon.
2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid release date and price
The new 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid will probably go on sale in November. We don’t expect changes in price, so the base model should go around 60.000 dollars, while the top models will reach 65.000. Competition in this segment is tough. There are many cars in the offer, but key players are models like Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CTS etc.
