At the recent Auto Shanghai 2017, the company unveiled a 2018 Lexus NX Hybrid luxury compact crossover. The new SUV will be one of Lexus’s most luxury for 2018 lineup. Its unique shape and design will separate it from the crowd.
This model was first introduced in 2014 and since then it has been Lexus’s successful model. Its earlier model was available in three trims, NX 200t, NX 300h and NX F Sports. Now, the Lexus has changed the name of its standard trim from NX 200t to NX 300, while the other trims have the same name. For the year 2018, the NX model is exclusively styled with a mix of features to face its significant new competitors.
2018 Lexus NX Hybrid – Sports Design
In terms of design, this urban crossover will have a refreshed sportier face. The 2018 Lexus NX Hybrid sub compact crossover is designed with a luxury bent and sharp styling. This crossover gets minor styling changes compared to its earlier model. Its front fascia looks more attractive and improves the model’s aerodynamics.

The cabin of this 2018 Lexus NX Hybrid is comfortable and spacious along with improved interfaces control. Inside the seats are equipped with luxurious interior materials—but front-seat occupants fare better than those in the rear. Its new infotainment screen on the dashboard has received an update by replacing the 7 inches screen by a 10 inches screen.

Two Engine Options of the 2018 Lexus NX Hybrid
The 2018 Lexus NX comes with two engine options. The first will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine which can generate 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission system to drive either the front or all four wheels.
The 2018 Lexus NX Hybrid version uses a 2.5 liters in-line 4 pairing with twin electric Atkinson-cycle motors, powered by lithium-ion batteries. The font Electric Motor will produce 141 horsepower, the rear one 67 horsepower and all net output is 194 horsepower. This hybrid is mated with a CVT automatic transmission system.
The Lexus has re-tuned the car’s suspension with Adaptive Variable Suspension, adopted from the LC 500. These new shock absorbers have enhanced handling and are installed to ensure smooth riding.
While the hybrid version provides good fuel economy for a small SUV—33 mpg city and 30 mpg on the highway.
2018 Lexus NX Hybrid – Pricing and Availability
Finally, it is expected that the 2018 Lexus NX Hybrid will be available for sale in early 2018. It is likely to be priced at around $36.000 for the basic trim levels.
