While the original Countryman was released in 2010, the current model came this year. The company did a redesign that brings various changes to us. There is a new design which improves driving quality. Also, the company introduced a completely new hybrid powertrain.
The new version features pretty amazing performances. It is definitely one of the most fan hybrid cars to drive that you can find around. However, it feels that the battery pack should be bigger. So, you can already find reports that suggest new 2019 Countryman will get a new battery. However, we didn’t get an official confirmation yet. Pretty much everyone who tried this hybrid version was impressed with its amazing performances. However, pretty much everyone also nags the battery’s capacity. In the current model, the battery is positioned right under the rear seat. However, it features a 7.6-kWh capacity, which isn’t quite much. Moreover, this means limits in many aspects. Of course, the biggest problem is the range.
With this battery, you can go only 25 miles in the all-electric range. On the other side, a top speed is around 78 mph. So, many experts expect that Mini is going to introduce a new version with a larger battery. This could happen already next year when the 2019 Mini Countryman Hybrid is about to come.
2019 Mini Countryman Hybrid powertrain
As we already mentioned, this small crossover features pretty amazing performances. It features a combination of gasoline and electric units which gives a pretty nice amount of power. There is a familiar 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, which is good for about 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. On the other side, electric motor gives a nice addition of 87 horses and 122 pound-feet of torque. Due to different peak, you get a combined output of 221 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque.
This is much more compared to the most powerful gasoline version, which delivers around 189 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. So, don’t be surprised with the 0-60 time in less than 6.5 seconds. Unlike gasoline versions which are available with 8-speed automatic too, this model comes only with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2019 Mini Countryman Hybrid could get a new battery, but the rest of the car should remain the same. This model came just recently. So, there is no need for changes at the moment, especially if we consider all novelties that this redesign brought to us. The new generation is about 8 inches longer than the original. Mini’s engineers managed to keep driving dynamics from its smaller relatives. However, they also created a crossover which is much more practical. It comes with much more room for rear passengers, as well as a much more cargo space. In terms of styling, the second generation comes in the same manner as the original. But, there is a plenty of new details, which provides more attractive look.

Since there will not be significant changes on the base model, we expect its arrival in usual time. This means that the 2019 Mini Countryman Hybrid will come in late 2018. However, a possible version with the larger battery could come earlier. In terms of price, base models will continue without changes. They go around 36.800 dollars. On the other side, a larger battery could cost you few thousands more.
