The 2019 Nissan Altima Hybrid is a very sophisticated and technology improved midsize sedan. This popular family vehicle is available in four trim levels, and unlike its competitors, it offers a choice between strong V6 and fuel-efficient engine. Both engines will work with a smooth automatic transmission.

The Altima suffered some major updates two years ago and now is ready for an almost complete overhaul. Since Nissan presented their new Vmotion 2.0 concept, Altima will be one of the first models to use this design concept.

You can find plenty of room inside the cabin with good legroom in the back. Altima is some way short in terms of headroom. The seats are coming in different shapes and wear nice cloth materials, with some higher trim levels, even leather. The trunk space is about average, with 15.3 cubic feet of trunk space.

All controls inside the cabin are very intuitive and well placed. The base audio system is a 4-speaker AM/FM/CD with auxiliary input. Push-button ignition, keyless entry, and Bluetooth connectivity are coming as standard. However, if you are looking for some additional features, Altima offers great stuff on some higher trim levels. Optional equipment comes with an updated big touchscreen, heated steering wheel, and heated seats as well. Also, the Cruise control, Cross Traffic Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision are the highlights of safety features. However, the top trim 3.5 SL offers a remote start and air-conditioning vents.


The 2019 Nissan Altima Hybrid is coming with famous Nissan’s V-shaped grille and new headlights. On the back, a bumper is now more expressive and sporty. Taillights are now also wider and are extended all the way to the trunk door. Furthermore, a new subtle spoiler is installed. All trims feature two chrome housings that should give Altima more athletic look. Some features will vary from trim to trim, but 17 and 18-inch wheels are optional, the same is for LED headlights and power moonroof.

The Nissan Altima is the first company’s hybrid vehicle. From some rumors, it will be powered by the 2.5-liter engine. It can produce 160hp and 165 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor adds an additional 40hp, putting out a max power of 200hp and 198 pound-feet of torque.

Its fuel efficiency is 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. However, the other engine that we expect is a 3.5-liter V6 with 272hp. In the past. Nissan Altima Hybrid was massively used as a taxi vehicle and police cruiser by NYPD (New York Police Department) before it was discounted.

2019 Nissan Altima Hybrid Release Date and Price

The 2019 Nissan Altima Hybrid is yet to be presented, maybe even in April at the New York International Auto Show. Altima should hit the car market somewhere during 2019. The price is unknown. The main competitors are Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord, and also model Kia Optima.
