The roof is more angled, and doors and hood are similar like on Prius model. Also, the taillights suffered some changes. The rear seats are good and the headroom is great, however, legroom could have been better. Auto up-down windows are available in all four position and are standard, and the infotainment system is supported with Bluetooth and USB inputs. There are 10 airbags in Toyota C-HR as well. Higher trims also offer features like push-button ignition and keyless entry.
Safety
Safety features like the pre-collision system and electronic parking brake with a brake-hold feature are optional. Factory navigation system is not available, just like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
2019 Toyota C-HR Hybrid Engine Specs
The 2019 Toyota C-HR hybrid version will get a 1.8L 2ZR-FEX engine that runs on a mix of petrol and 53kW electric motor. It comes with 31-kilowatt-hour nickel-metal battery that can offer two miles at speeds below 40 mpg.
The Toyota C-HR base model comes with only one engine available. The new engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit that is able to produce 145 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with front-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. Moreover, the C-HR is struggling with acceleration. Sport driving mode isn’t really helpful. Fuel economy is good, this SUV’s projects 27 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.
2019 Toyota C-HR Hybrid Price and Release Date
Starting price for the upcoming 2019 Toyota C-HR is around $24,000 with the destination. That means you can get a well-equipped compact SUV at a fair price. But if you want features like fog lights or blind-spot monitoring, you’ll have to opt for higher trims. XLE trim will cost around $26,000 and it is highly recommendable, having in mind the difference between starting price and price of this model.
However, we expect a 2019 Toyota C-HR Hybrid model to cost around $30,000. The toughest competitors are Volkswagen Golf GTE and BMW i3. Toyota C-HR hybrid will hit the car market somewhere around March 2019.
